My name is Serian Leti Strauss and I am a Steward of Oya’s Marketplace.
I am a Black, Queer, mixed-race artist born and raised in Tanzania. I seek to transform the boundary between the everyday and the sacred, creating spaces that honor the divine and the ordinary simultaneously. As a steward of Oya’s Marketplace I design spaces and experiences that work with the complex nature of our times.
I find magic in taking humble, sometimes disregarded materials, and transforming them into something precious. I value both utility and beauty. My hope is that you find joy in your daily life, especially through your own creativity.

You Can Keep the Dishes
Here is how it works
You gather around a table. All the pottery is designed in collaboration with the chef — each dish chosen with the same care as the meal. There is an opening to honor the Ancestors. We celebrate food. We share, laugh, and listen.
At the end of the night, you take your dishes home.
