There is something magical about clay: taking mud and making it precious. Earth, mixed with water, shaped by hand, carved and smoothed, dried by air and transformed by fire. Through this ancient alchemy, humble materials become objects that bridge the ordinary and sacred in daily life.

As a queer, Black, mixed-race artist born and raised in Tanzania, I carry within me multiple worlds and perspectives that continually inform my creative vision. My current work emerges from my connection to Ifa, the West African earth-based spiritual practice that honors our relationship with the natural world. The land itself guides me, alongside my ancestors who are makers, healers, warriors and shapeshifters.

The functional pieces I create carry intention while remaining approachable. When I incorporate wood, beads, shells, wire, fiber, burn marks, and feathers, I'm not just decorating; I'm weaving connections between materials and meanings, creating doorways between seen and unseen worlds. My intention is that these pieces make visible the spiritual dimensions that surround us everyday. I hope that these objects find their way into daily routines, reminding those who use them that the sacred isn't separate from ordinary life. Everything around us can be conduits between our physical existence and the spiritual forces that sustain us.
