3 hour Pocket Altar Workshop - August 17th 2025 1pm - 4pm @ The Sanctuary, Oakland
@ The Sanctuary on August 17th from 1pm - 4pm
Working with Altars is a practice that I find very supportive, especially in times when I feel untethered. Altars have helped me reconnect and anchor back to my sense of self, offer protection, as well as provide a direct line to Spirit.
A few ways altars are living in my home:
Honoring my Ancestors
Under my pillow, helping me sleep
On a window sill to help me do my dishes
Protecting my front door
Honoring inner children
Communing with Orisha
Altars don’t have to be grand spaces, they can literally fit into your pocket! Being able to travel with an altar can offer many gifts.
In this 3 hour workshop you will
Learn a simple and personal framework for how to work with any altar
Create your own pocket altar in community in a fun laid back atmosphere
Get to ask questions and be in conversation about altars
What to bring:
Small pictures, special paper or items that can fit inside your pocket altar. I will provide a few special items you can use
Scissors and an Exacto knife if you have one. I will have a few
An Altoid box (the large or tiny ones both work), or a small box of your choice. A “pocket altar” doesn’t have to fit in your pocket, it can fit in your bag. I’ve also used playing card boxes.
